【授業の目的】
授業の位置付:DP2 一般知識、DP3 思考力 DP5 会話・文章力 DP6 意欲 経営学部経営学科に係る専門科目において、本学の教育目標である「専門学術の振興」に貢献することである。 English writing is fun! Students will learn how to improve their academic writing skills. Activities will include prewriting such as brainstorming and mind mapping, peer reviewing and journal writing. Students will produce at least FOUR reports that will be typed and formatted. All writing, speaking and teacher instruction will be in ENGLISH ONLY.
【到達目標】
By taking this course students will: 1) Be able to increase their confidence and motivation to write in English 2) Be able to improve their writing fluency and word processing skills 3) Be able to improve their ability to create short reports 4) Be able to learn ways to organize their writing clearly and effectively
【授業計画】
この授業は、対面時授業が終わるまでに課題のプリントを配布します。次の授業で回収します。オンライン対応には、ZOOMミーティングの後, YOU TUBE, POWERPOINT 「講義掲示」で資料配布やレポートの課題回収を行う。
1)Exploring student experiences of writing; explaining different styles of writing; outline the writing process; discuss how to use MS Word; explain journal writing. 事前学修:journal entry 事後学修:peer review one classmate’s journal, error correct and give feedback
2)Journal reading and commenting; pre-writing skills. 事前学修:brain storm and mind map for first assignment 事後学修:discuss ideas in pairs and groups

【予習・復習】
Students are expected to prepare thoroughly for written work by prewriting including brainstorming and freewriting. This will take 1 hour each week. After peer reviewing and comments from the teacher, students are expected to rewrite and review their work. Students will submit drafts. Reviwing will take 2 hours each week. Students are expected to do this.

【成績評価方法・注意】
成績評価方法: Students will be assessed on their ability to complete the process needed to write a report including a mind map, and a typed, formatted report. Feedback will be given in the next class. Students are expected to come on time with their journal and dictionary, and be prepared to fully participate in the written activities. Classes are graded according to attendance, journals, and written assignments(75%)and learning attitude (25%). Students MUST buy a notebook for their journal, a folder for their handouts, and have access to a computer AND a printer.
